Imagine a furry gift this year

The crispness in the air on my morning walks can only mean it’s time for family, gifts, and good will to men -- and dogs. Cheers, here come the holidays.
My Dad likes to celebrate with visits to friends and family. I like to give an extra lick hello to the people we visit, and lay quietly for them to scratch my belly. We both give and receive in this little bit of pure enjoyment.

On a recent belly rub, I was laying back and thinking how great it would be to have more of my shelter-dog friends able to enjoy the blessings of a family like I do – and of course give those great families love and companionship all year long. I think of the fun the little humans could have playing with a puppy instead of plastic toys and other stuff that is forgotten in a couple of weeks.

If this sounds interesting (hint, hint), then visit my Facebook page (facebook.com/thebrandiproject) to see many of my canine friends that would love a forever home.

The Brandi Project has partnered with Paws New England (www.pawsnewengland.com), the rescue I came from, and with East Greenwich Animal Protection League (egapl.com). By supporting these great groups, we share a common goal of finding every shelter dog a forever home!

Even if you’re not up for a canine buddy just yet, your merchandise purchases from The Brandi Project help dog-rescue heroes like these continue their vital work.

See you next month in Brandi’s corner.

As a former shelter dog, you can’t imagine the happiness I feel being part of a loving family. I know that my canine friends in shelters now would be just about wagging their tails off with excitement to find a forever home in 2016. And I know that humans would find that bringing a dog into their lives would add a whole new dimension of fun and unconditional love.

That said, I’d like to wrap up 2015 with some heartfelt appreciation for everyone who has supported The Brandi Project this past year. A Great Dane-sized thank you to all The Brandi Project volunteers and donors (each gets at least three Brandi virtual face licks). Because of their generosity, the Brandi Project, in just three years, has raised over $27,000 for dog rescue!

Together, we can keep the momentum going strong in 2016. Dollar donations and purchasing TBP merchandise are super – and so is simply spreading the word about the work we do with friends, family and colleagues. Sharing our website or a post from our Facebook page are just two easy ways to make a difference. With your help, we can make The Brandi Project a household name. Woof!

Oh, one more thing. If you’ve already brought a rescue dog into your life, you can share your story with us by emailing it to brandi@thebrandiproject.com. I have quite a bit of influence here at The Brandi Project, and I’ll do my absolute best to get it published.

A happy and prosperous New Year to all.

See you next month in Brandi’s corner.
